Tennisette is a lifestyle site for the stylish tennis lover, by Amelia Wilson, the writer behind the bestselling, cult-favorite Substack newsletter, Happy on Purpose.

Noting a gap in the market for a lifestyle newsletter for avid women tennis players who value skill and style, Amelia launched Tennisette in June 2026.

Tennis is growing, particularly among women. The USTA reports that since 2019, tennis participation in the U.S. increased by 54%, and in 2025, 1.1 million more women took to the court than in 2024!

Our articles and free weekly newsletter feature a mix of strategy and skill advice, inspirational interviews, plus tightly edited fashion, home, and travel recommendations, for a life well-played.

About Amelia

Amelia began playing tennis at 12 in sunny Brisbane, Australia. After playing throughout high school, she took a two-decade hiatus before rediscovering her love of the game as a busy, 30-something married mother of two, living in Brooklyn, New York.

Seduced by the addictive combination of athletic and mental challenge plus social benefits, Amelia plays tennis whenever she can (almost always doubles!), will always be working on her net game and serve, and loves nothing more than a vacation that includes tickets to a tennis tournament!

Following successful careers in financial services and nonprofit management, Amelia established the bestselling, cult-favorite Substack newsletter for midlife women, Happy on Purpose, in 2022.

Amelia lives in the bucolic Hudson Valley, north of New York City, with her husband, two children, and a fluffy Havanese pup. When she’s not playing tennis, Amelia can be found pursuing her other passions: mahjong, reading, water coloring, entertaining, traveling, and watching quality TV and movies!
